The team

Meet your tutors.

Every tutor at Tutors Elevate completed intensive in-house training before their first lesson. Each has top grades in the subjects they teach — and years of experience teaching them.

Ilham

Senior Head of Subjects

Maths · Further Maths · Physics

Ilham has five years of tutoring experience across Maths, Further Maths and Physics, from KS3 right through to A-Level. He is methodical and precise — students come to him having memorised methods they can't explain, and leave understanding why they work.

His particular strength is A-Level Mechanics: the topic where students most often hit a wall. He builds the physical intuition first, then the mathematical machinery, so it holds under exam conditions. For students targeting Oxbridge or competitive engineering courses, Ilham also offers targeted STEP and MAT coaching.

Ilham follows the Edexcel spec closely across all year groups and is equally comfortable with AQA and OCR. He holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Queen Mary University of London.

Dayan

Senior Head of Subjects · English Specialist

English Lang & Lit · Computer Science · Maths

Dayan teaches Computer Science, English and Maths from KS2 to A-Level. She is consistently the tutor that anxious or disengaged students are matched to first, because her calm and patient style reliably rebuilds confidence — a pattern that shows up repeatedly in our student survey results.

English is where Dayan's range is most striking. She teaches the subject across every level from KS2 through to A-Level — reading comprehension, creative writing, language analysis, analytical essays and literature — and covers all major exam boards including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. She knows the mark schemes in fine detail and teaches students exactly what examiners are rewarding: the habits of annotation, structure and textual evidence that turn understanding into marks. For A-Level Literature students she works closely on set texts and coursework; for KS3 and GCSE students she builds the essay-writing foundations that hold up under timed conditions.

In Computer Science, Dayan bridges the gap between theory and real code. She has written production software professionally and teaches students how it actually works — not just the textbook definitions. She is especially strong on NEA coursework support: students come to her with half-formed projects and leave with well-evidenced, well-tested submissions.

In Maths, she is particularly patient with students who have developed anxiety around the subject from earlier years, taking time to rebuild the foundational confidence that makes everything else possible.

Tofee

Senior Teacher · Sciences

Biology · Chemistry

Tofee brings extensive experience teaching Biology and Chemistry from GCSE through to A-Level. She has a deep, conceptual understanding of both subjects — the kind of understanding that only comes from years of teaching the same material to students at different levels, and knowing exactly where each topic breaks down for them.

Her approach is built around comprehension rather than rote learning. Students don't just memorise definitions; they come away understanding the mechanisms — why osmosis works, how enzymes are inhibited, why reaction rates change with temperature. Under exam pressure, that understanding is what holds.

Tofee is particularly strong on exam technique: she knows the mark schemes in detail and teaches students to write answers that collect every available mark. She covers all major exam boards across Biology and Chemistry at GCSE and A-Level, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR Gateway and OCR A.

Mani

Senior Science Teacher · Medicine & Dentistry

Biology · Chemistry · Physics · UCAT

Mani is a specialist in Sciences at GCSE and A-Level — Biology, Chemistry and Physics across all major exam boards. His lessons are built around deep conceptual understanding rather than surface-level memorisation, so students can apply knowledge confidently in unfamiliar exam questions.

He offers expert UCAT preparation covering all five sections: Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning and Situational Judgement. His sessions are structured and evidence-based, building speed and accuracy under timed conditions — exactly what competitive medicine and dentistry applicants need.

Mani also provides full application support for medicine and dentistry: personal statement structuring and review, interview coaching for both MMI and panel formats, and guidance on work experience and academic references. He is familiar with the requirements of UK medical and dental schools and has supported students through the full application cycle.

How we teach

The philosophy behind every lesson.

Four principles that every Tutors Elevate lesson is built on.

1

Real understanding beats memorising tricks.

We teach the why behind every method. Students who understand it remember it under exam pressure. The ones who only memorised it forget.

2

Patience is the most underrated skill in teaching.

Confidence is built one small win at a time. We make sure your child gets it, not just nods along.

3

Honesty serves students better than flattery.

We tell parents what's actually happening: what's strong, what's wobbly, what we're doing about it. No glossy reports.

4

Steady growth wins.

We don't cram. We want your child more confident in six weeks than today, and again the six weeks after that.

Standards

How we choose and develop our tutors.

In-house training before the first lesson.

Every tutor completes an intensive in-house training programme before they teach their first student. That means lesson planning structure, how to adapt to different learning styles, how to give feedback that students and parents actually find useful, and how to handle the moments when a student is stuck and frustrated.

Top grades in their subject.

We don't recruit anyone who hasn't achieved at the highest level in what they teach. You can't teach what you don't know deeply.

Years of teaching experience.

All our tutors have taught the same subjects across multiple year groups for multiple years. Experience in the classroom is different from knowing the content.

Peer review of lesson plans.

Tutors review each other's lesson plans regularly. It keeps standards up and stops habits forming that students eventually notice.

Direct student feedback every term.

We survey students independently, not through the tutor. The results go back to every tutor and to us. That's how the 97% recommendation rate gets maintained.
